Learning Goals


v Social Studies goals:
1. Make ethical judgments about events, decisions, or actions that consider the conditions of a particular time and place, and assess appropriate ways to respond (ethical judgment)

Students will:
·      Ask questions, make connections and share ideas
·      Relate current events to the past, to the future, and to your life.
·      Understand your own values and be able to recognize the values of others.


v Language Arts (Writing) Goals:
1.Questioning what we hear, read, and view contributes to our ability to be educated and engaged citizens.

2. Use writing and design processes to plan, develop, and create engaging and meaningful literary and informational texts for a variety of purposes and audiences

Students will:
·      write paragraphs that come from thoughts, feelings, opinions, memories, and reflections
·      demonstrate clarity and some variety in language
·      follow standard conventions for basic spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure; writing has been checked for errors
