Math

Dear Families,

For Math all students have an IXL.com account. If they do not know their password/username please phone/email me (Jessica.mckerrow@sd78.bc.ca) and I will be happy to pass that along.

At school students would spend 30 minutes a day on this program with me assisting them with any problems they are having. It is my hope that we can eventually meet up through a Teams app while working on math so that we can all see each other working hard and so that I can be visibly available to help any students with challenges that they are having. That said, I am always available during school hours via phone or email. As I tell my kids, I had a lot of difficulty in school and I get that this stuff can be intimidating so please reach out if you or your student need help.

Task
Students are to log in the IXL. Go to diagnostic and pick a strand to focus on (ie. Number Sense, Patterns and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement or Data, Statistics and Probability). I often encourage students to work on the strand they are struggling the most with but sometimes it is fun to switch it up.

Assessment
Once or twice a week students need to click "Step into the Arena" on the Diagnostic page. This will assess their skills and adjust their score.

Extras
I will be adding links and ideas to this area as things come up. This is what I have so far:
